Born under the sun-soaked skies of the Philippines, I grew up with dreams far beyond my homeland. Like many of you, I’ve always had an insatiable curiosity about the world, its cultures, and its flavors. My early days in customer service honed my conversational prowess and weekends? Well, they were dedicated to quenching my thirst for travel and discovering hidden gems within the Philippine archipelago.

But the universe, in its infinite wisdom, had grand plans for me. A fascination with the culinary arts took hold, and I soon found myself immersed in the world of flavors and fragrances. A stint in an Italian restaurant back home was just the beginning. The real adventure began when I joined a German river cruise as a Demi Chef. The rivers of Germany, the lavish yachts of Ibiza, and a surprise detour to the enchanting Arctic realm of Svalbard—my culinary journey became as much about the places as it was about the plates.

Svalbard, with its ethereal landscapes and untouched wilderness, wasn’t just another stop on my journey. It felt like a calling. So, I did what any self-respecting adventurer would do—I followed my heart and made this Arctic wonder my home. No rush hours, no blaring horns. Just peace, serenity, and an endless canvas of nature’s majesty. Here, life is in its purest form. Wake up, bask in the raw beauty, work, and then lose yourself in nature’s embrace.

But life has a funny way of reminding you of its impermanence. A demanding career in the kitchen started taking a toll on me, prompting reflections and reroutes. As a result, I decided to change my career path and work with guests personally, to help them discover this beautiful place in the Arctic. I was fortunate to still be working for the same expedition tour company as I had been for the past two years.

And that’s when the vast, ever-evolving digital realm caught my attention. And here we are, on this very platform, where I aspire to bring the magic of the Arctic and the breathtaking outdoors to your screens.
